As the boy is now 17 he asked for (and got) his driving lessons. At the same time we decided to upgrade our cars. We visited a few new car showrooms, but in the end decided to go for a big V70 Volvo - so we worked out the plan. The deal was that the old Toyota Avensis passed to the boy. At first he sneered - an old-mans car, cant I have a Landrover or a Golf? But rather than seeing Avensis disappear in a part-exchange weve kept it, dino-girl still has a plain looking (but loveable) Fiesta that we bought for £750. So now weve got 4 cars in the drive, lined up, alternate red/blue/red/blue
Next step. Get boy to lay out some new driveway
